How Clark County college football players fared, Nov. 18

The postseason is here for the smaller divisions of college football. Saturday, Clark County football players helped Southern Oregon and Linfield reach the quarterfinals.

In Ashland, Ore., Jordan Suell (Fort Vancouver) helped Southern Oregon beat Dickinson State 55-24 in the first round of the NAIA playoffs. He had five catches for a team-high 86 yards, including a 38-yard touchdown. Parker Randle (Battle Ground) had one catch for 45 yards and two tackles on special teams. Nate Kuratli (Union) also had a tackle.

Southern Oregon (11-0) advances to the NAIA quarterfinals to face Lindsey Wilson next Saturday in Columbia, Ky.

In McMinville, Ore., Willy Warne (Mountain View) made two field goals as Linfield beat Hardin-Simmons 27-13 in the first round of the NCAA Division-III playoffs. The Wildcats (9-1) advance to face top-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor in the quarterfinals next Saturday in Belton, Texas.

Taylor Nelson (Union) had two tackles as Southern Utah wrapped up the Big Sky championship by beating Northern Arizona. The Thunderbirds earned a first-round bye and will host Weber State or Western Illinois on Dec. 2.

Also last week, Jack Colletto (Camas) and his Arizona Western College teammates were awarded one of two spots in the NJCAA Football Championship. The No. 2 ranked Matadors (9-0) will face top-ranked East Mississippi (10-1) on Dec. 3 in Perkinston, Miss.
