Preserving land and providing residents with access is a worthy goal of local government. Clark County’s ambitious plan to expand such facilities should be applauded.
Twenty years after the city’s massive land grab of Cascade Park in 1997, residents of the Landover-Sharmel neighborhood are still awaiting the completion of the park they were promised. The list of excuses for not meeting this commitment is seemingly endless. Is it possible the neighborhood could “secede” from the city and get our park?
