Prep Highlights: River soccer keeps pace in 2A GSHL

Sophia Skimas had a goal and an assist as the Columbia River girls soccer team beat Washougal 3-0 on Monday at Kiggins Bowl.

With the win, Columbia River improved to 5-1 in the 2A Greater St. Helens League behind only unbeaten Hockinson.

Ava Greer and Sophie Landers also scored for the Chieftains (7-2-0).

Jessie Larsen and Erin Bentley combined for 10 saves for Washougal (4-3-1, 3-3).

Stars of the day

• Dylan Henry, Union boys golf, shot a 3-under 33 to lead all scores in the Titans’ win over Camas.

• Andrew Kabacy, Skyview boys tennis, the defending 4A state champ maintained form, blanking Heritage’s No. 1 singles competitor 6-0, 6-0 to lead Skyview past the Timberwolves 6-0.

• Katie Rommel, Firm Foundation volleyball, had nine kills and 1 block in a 3-0 win.
