Vancouver – Bloodworks Northwest is urging people to donate blood this week so it can send supplies to Las Vegas following Sunday’s shooting.

Bloodworks is partnering with United Blood Services in Las Vegas to offer emergency blood components for medical treatment of people injured in the shooting. While current needs are being met, Las Vegas hospitals will need additional supplies, according to Bloodworks Northwest.

“We know that a large number of patients will need treatment and ongoing care,” said Dr. James P. AuBuchon, president and CEO of Bloodworks Northwest, in a news release. “We expect to be called upon and stand ready to assist immediately with emergency shipments.”

The Vancouver Donor Center, 9320 N.E. Vancouver Mall Drive, Suite 100, is open Tuesday through Saturday. Donors can schedule an appointment by vising the website, schedule.bloodworksnw.org, or calling 800-398-7888.
