A man attempted to rob Muchas Gracias, a Mexican restaurant in downtown Vancouver, early this morning.

The suspect walked up to the drive-thru window, displayed a handgun and demanded money, according to Kim Kapp, spokeswoman for the Vancouver Police Department.

Employees did not give him money and the suspect ran away. The attempted robbery was reported at 1411 Washington St. at 6:42 a.m. — 42 minutes after the restaurant opened for the day.

Police searched the neighborhood but did not locate the suspect. He was described as a tall, skinny white man in his 20s, wearing a black hoodie with a white bandana over his face.
