Hockinson, coming off an impressive win over previously unbeaten Washougal, moved up one spot in the latest Associated Press state prep football rankings in Class 2A.
Hockinson is now No. 2 in Class 2A behind near-unanimous No. 1 team, Archbishop Murphy of Everett.
Archbishop Murphy received 10 of 11 first-place votes plus one second-place vote for 109 points. Hockinson was No. 2 with 86 points, just edging out No. 3 West Valley of Spokane with 85.
Union also moved up one spot in this week 4A rankings, coming in at No. 8. Camas still tops the 4A state rankings, receiving eight of 10 first place votes, plus two second-place votes for 98 points. Woodinville is No. 2 with two first-place votes and 89 points.
La Center received votes in the 1A rankings, missing the top 10 by seven points.
