Non-league football: La Center 48, Burlington-Edison 20

Wyatt Dodson was unstoppable for the Wildcats.

Dodson rushed for 321 yards on 38 carries and scored five touchdowns as La Center (5-2) rolled to a non-league road win over Class 2A Burlington-Edison.

After the Tigers took a 7-0 lead after one quarter, La Center tied the game on Hayden Williamson’s 2-yard pass to Jackson Leslie in the second quarter.

Dodson added TD runs of 11 and 22 yards as La Center took a 21-7 lead into halftime.

Dodson had a 35-yard TD run and Evan Honore recovered a fumble in the end zone as La Center led 34-20 after three quarters.

Dodson capped the game with two more TD runs in the fourth quarter.

The Wildcats return to Trico League play next week when they host Columbia-White Salmon.
