Battle Ground Health Care seeks volunteers to help with physician assistance, medical technology, reception, phlebotomy, bookkeeping, volunteer coordination and nursing.

Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Washington needs “bookworm buddies” to help club members improve reading skills. Meet one-on-one, 3 to 7 p.m. weekdays, once a week or more. Volunteers, 16 and older, are also needed in the activity area with art projects or games, and in the computer lab.

CDM Services, an adult day center, seeks volunteers for its Elder Friends program to provide companionship, outreach, and advocacy to isolated elders on a weekly basis. A one-year commitment is requested. Training begins soon.

Clark College Mature Learning is looking for media assistants to help instructors use the “smart room” podium and sound systems. Training is provided. Volunteers may also help create PowerPoint presentations.

The Historic Trust seeks volunteers to help with the Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 11. Help set up or take down, greet guests, hand out brochures and fliers during two- to four-hour shifts between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Volunteer Connections is seeking committee members to help with a major new event next fall. There will be monthly planning meetings to start.
