Prep highlights: Prairie volleyball wraps up 3A league title

The Prairie volleyball team will remain in a familiar role — league champions.

The Falcons wrapped up the 3A Greater St. Helens League title outright Tuesday with a three-set win at second-place Kelso. The set scores were 25-13, 25-19, 25-21.

Prairie (9-0, 13-1) now has a two-game lead over Kelso with one league match to play. The Falcons hope to wrap up a second straight undefeated league season Thursday against Evergreen.

Zoe McBride led Prairie with 15 kills, 11 digs and four aces. Abby Brotherton added eight kills while Lainne Wilkins had 30 assists and 13 digs.

Camas, Prairie, King’s Way soccer clinch league titles

• Maddie Kemp scored four goals as the Camas girls soccer team clinched the 4A GSHL title outright with a 8-0 win over Battle Ground.

Kemp added two assists as Camas (6-0-1, 19 points) maintained a four-point lead over Skyview with one league match to play.

• Kendal Spencer had two goals and an assist as Prairie clinched its third straight 3A GSHL title with an 8-0 win over Hudson’s Bay.

Alyssa Talkington also had two goals and an assist for the Falcons (8-1-0). With one league match to play, Prairie has a one-point lead over Mountain View, which finished its league season Tuesday with a win.

• King’s Way Christian beat La Center 9-1 to clinch the 1A Trico League title. Kennedy Carpenter, Aurora Espinoza-Chaney and Elise Schey each had two goals for the Knights (7-0-0).

Stars of the day

• Amanda Holm, La Center volleyball, dished out 22 assists and had eight serving aces in the Wildcats’ sweep of Seton Catholic to set up their regular-season finale showdown with Castle Rock with a share of the 1A Trico League title on the line Thursday.

• Katie Kogler, Firm Foundation volleyball, had a match-best 28 kills and six blocks in a five-set victory over Three Rivers Christian.

• Kaylee Baldwin, Washougal volleyball, had a double-double with 12 kills and 18 digs in a 3-0 win over Mark Morris.

• Vanessa Franke, Woodland volleyball, had a team-high 13 kills and 3 blocks in a three-set win over Hockinson.

• Kirah Boynton Brown, Union volleyball, had a team-high 11 kills and 5 blocks in a three-set win over Heritage.

• Grace Garmire, Mountain View volleyball, had 19 kills, 17 digs, five blocks and three aces in a five-set win over Hudson’s Bay.

• Aubrey Stanton, Camas volleyball, had 25 assists and nine digs in a straight-set win over Battle Ground.

• Haley Walz, Fort Vancouver volleyball, had eight digs, seven kills, 10 assists and three aces in a straight-set win over Evergreen.

• Olivia Fothergill, Mountain View girls soccer, had three goals and assisted another in the Thunder’s 11-0 shutout of Fort Vancouver.
