Ridgefield author wins Oregon writing contest

Clark County — Dawn Shipman of Ridgefield won the Cascade Award in the Unpublished Speculative Fiction category for “Lost Stones of Argonia.” She was also a finalist in the Published Articles category for her piece titled “Full Circle.” The Cascade Awards are the Oregon Christian Writers’ annual writing contest, and winners were named Aug. 17. Numerous other Clark County authors were named finalists in various categories, such as Jennifer Lindsay of Vancouver, who was a finalist in the Unpublished Young Adult/Middle Grade category for her novel, “The Lost Kings Chronicles, Book 1: Outcast.” Jill Williamson of Ridgefield was named a finalist in the Published Speculative Fiction category for “King’s Folly.” Rebecca DeMarino of Amboy was named a finalist in the Published Historical Fiction category for her novel, “To Follow Her Heart.”
