How Clark County college football players fared, Sept. 16

Count Jordan Suell among Southern Oregon quarterback Tanner Trosin’s favorite targets.

And as the team’s tallest player, why not? The 6-foot-6 receiver from Fort Vancouver High School played a big role in SOU’s 52-28 win over Montana Western on Saturday.

Suell had a team-high 7 catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns. His 5-yard TD catch put the Raiders ahead 10-7 early in the second quarter.  He added a 20-yard touchdown catch early in the fourth quarter as SOU improved to 3-0 in the NAIA’s Frontier Conference.

Back east, Massachusetts Institute of Technology freshman Keithen Shepard (Union) had his first career TD catch in a 31-26 win over Endicott. The true freshman caught a 58-yard touchdown, one of his team-high four catches and 77 receiving yards.
