Camas – Enrollment is open for East County Fire & Rescue’s community emergency response team training program, which will run through October.

The program educates people in disaster preparedness, what hazards may impact their area and how to respond should an emergency arise. Class topics include fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster first aid.

CERT-trained community members are able to better assist in their neighborhoods and workplaces following a disaster.

Classes will be held 7-9:30 p.m. Oct. 13; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 14; 7-9:30 p.m. Oct. 20; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 21.

Registration costs $30, which covers training supplies. Class size is limited and payment is due at time of registration.

To register or get more information, contact the fire district at 360-834-4908 or through ecfr.us.
