Letter: Throwing rocks, bottles not OK

The Sept. 11 story “Rally erupts — Protesters clash in Patriot Prayer demonstration on waterfront,” told that a man drove his truck in the downtown rally, with two American flags attached to the truck, and that the counterprotesters threw rocks and bottles at his truck. He took evasive action to depart, running through traffic and around vehicles in front of him, and was detained by Vancouver police officers.

The Sept. 12 story “Detained driver could be charged” said the driver was released and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will make the decision on whether to file charges.

I would like to hear — were any of those who threw rocks and bottles, trying to damage the truck and the driver, stopped and interviewed? Was not their action a violation of the law, causing or trying to cause damage to a person’s personal property?
