Prep highlights: Suarez leads Evergreen girls soccer to victory

She notches five goals and one assist

Dolly Suarez notched five goals and an assist to help the Evergreen Plainsmen to their first girls soccer victory in 3A Greater St. Helens League play with a 8-1 win over Fort Vancouver on Thursday at McKenzie Stadium.

Leiah Keniston added three goals, including the match’s first goal, and three assists. She assisted all three of Suarez’s goals, as the Plainsmen improved to 3-1-2 overall.

Mary Brown scored the Trappers’ goal.

Stars of the day

• Dante Heitschmidt, Prairie boys golf, fired a 34 at Club Green Meadows to help the Falcons win their three-way match against Mark Morris and Heritage.

• Emily Johnson, Washougal volleyball, had 29 assists and eight digs in the Panthers’ sweep of R.A. Long.

• Grace Russell, Hockinson volleyball, had 25 digs and 18 kills in Hockinson’s five-set victory over La Center.

• Kirah Boynton-Brown, Union volleyball, behind her team-best six blocks, the Titans handed Prairie its first loss in four sets.

• Annika Farley and Brooke Weese, Ridgefield soccer, had two goals each in a 5-3 win over Woodland.
