KENNEWICK — A Washington state man who was arrested after an undercover detective posed as a teenage girl has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.

The Tri-City Herald reported that 24-year-old Robert Cody Cameron Genoway pleaded guilty in federal court in July to allegations that he produced child pornography of a 13-year-old girl.

Court documents state the detective saw an internet ad in July 2016 seeking a “petite young teeny bopper” for sexual acts. Genoway, a Benton City resident, drove to locations in Kennewick twice and also to Oregon to try to meet the girl.

Court documents say that after Genoway was arrested, he admitted to having sex with another teen and to producing child pornography content.

Genoway’s attorney says he was young when the crime happened and suffered from a childhood of abuse.
