Letter: Make players pay for kneeling

The media’s coverage of the president’s remarks about NFL players disrespecting the flag and our national anthem is just biased crap. These highly paid players are hired to play football — period. They’re supported by paying fans and TV coverage, etc. Take the knee or stand on your head, for all I care, but do it off the football field.

Is every sports event going to become a political platform, like the Emmys and the Oscars? If fans would take an exit stage, and leave before the game starts, the owners and players might get the message to take their protests outside of the stadium. All will be OK once the money stops flowing.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
