Richland woman threatens to kill Trios employee while trying to get inside the hospital

KENNEWICK — A Richland woman was charged Wednesday with threatening to kill a Trios Southridge Hospital employee if she couldn’t get into the Kennewick facility through a secured door.

Cristi C. Chambers-Dozer, 47, allegedly held a knife with the blade facing up when she confronted the housekeeper late Saturday.

She is scheduled to appear Thursday in Benton County Superior Court for felony harassment. Bail is set at $10,000.

This is her second case in the past month for the same charge.

Chambers-Dozer is accused of going into the HAPO Community Credit Union in Pasco on March 15 and threatening to get a gun if they didn’t do what she asked.
She left before police arrived, but employees knew her because she is a member of the credit union. She also allegedly left behind her identification and purse.

In the new case, the Trios housekeeper was leaving work at 11:34 p.m. when she found a small dog outside blocking the door at an employee exit.

The employee was trying to move the dog when she heard a woman “aggressively yelling at her from a white van that if she touched the dog she was going to ‘f—— kill’ her,” court documents said.

Chambers-Dozer then got out of her van and approached the employee. She again said she would kill the woman if she didn’t open the badge-protected door, documents said.

The employee was able to get back inside the hospital without Chambers-Dozer, and immediately called for security and Kennewick police.

Security officers followed Chambers-Dozer around the building into the lobby, where she was arrested by police.

A later search of her van turned up the knife, documents said.

It is not clear why she wanted to get inside the facility.

Chambers-Dozer was out on bail at the time in her Franklin County Superior Court felony harassment case.

Pasco police had responded to the North 20th Avenue credit union at 6:25 p.m. March 15 for reports of a woman making threats and claiming to have a gun.

Chambers-Dozer had since left in a white van.

Management told police that Chambers-Dozer has a history of causing problems at their credit unions, court documents said. The employee who dealt with Chambers-Dozer that day reportedly was left scared and shaking after the confrontation.

Chambers-Dozer used profanity the entire time she talked to the employee in her office, called the woman derogatory names and threatened to get a gun if she had to, documents said. She allegedly turned to her son, who was with her, and said “they are not closing my account here and they will do as I ask.”

Chambers-Dozer asked for the employee’s name, then told the woman to go to hell, court documents said.

The employee told police that she became scared for her life, thinking the gun was in Chambers-Dozer’s purse, so she walked out of her office and went to a back room to call 911, documents said.

“I was pretty shaken up and do not remember much more after I heard her comment about the gun,” the employee said.
