One person was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening following a shooting on Caples Avenue off Fourth Plain Boulevard on Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to a house in the 2900 block of Caples Avenue in the Bagley Downs neighborhood around 1:15 p.m. for a report of a drive-by shooting, then set up a search perimeter around the area.

Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said officers found the shooting actually occurred inside a home, but were unable to locate a suspect. She said there was little suspect information beyond word the suspected shooter fled westbound in a red sedan.

No other injuries were reported, she said.

Roosevelt Elementary School, the Fir Grove/Vista school, Vancouver iTech Preparatory Middle School, Vancouver Flex Academy, some school district offices and the Jim Parsley Community Center went on lockdown for about 20 minutes during the incident, according to Vancouver Public Schools.

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Major Crime Unit and the Safe Streets Task Force are investigating, the department said, adding detectives don’t believe there’s any threat to the general public
