Letter: Long favors campaign reform

There doesn’t appear to be much Republicans and Democrats can agree on. However, I feel there’s one area in which we can concur: the amount of money in politics has become too much to bear.

According to Opensecerts.org, the 2016 presidential and congressional races cost $6.5 billion. This staggering figure is unconscionable. That’s why I endorse Carolyn Long for Congress. Long supports campaign finance reform including eliminating super PACs and curtailing corporations’ political contributions.

Long’s opponent appears to be satisfied with the status quo. If you’re sick of money controlling politics instead of people, consider voting for Long.
