The Clark County Historical Museum will team up with the North Clark Historical Museum for a May 3 event in Amboy.

The First Thursday program begins at 6:30 p.m. at the historic 1910 Amboy United Brethren Church, 21416 N.E. 399 St., Amboy.

The event will mark National Preservation Month. Admission will be free.

“From the sternwheelers arriving in La Center to the logging industries near Yacolt and Amboy, North Clark’s rich and important history is illuminated by the amazing preservation work done on the United Brethren Church,” Brad Richardson, Clark County Historical Museum executive director, said in a news release. Within those walls, the North County Historical Museum “tells a unique and place-centered story.”

The First Thursday speakers will include three leaders of the North Clark Historical Museum: Georgene Neal, secretary, “History of the Amboy United Brethren Church”; April Reichstein, board member and grant writer, “The Journey From Church to Museum”; and Jim Malinowski, president, “Getting to Know the North Clark Historical Museum.”
