Podcast discusses oil terminal after rejection by Inslee

By Jake Thomas, Columbian political reporter
Published: February 1, 2018, 6:00am

Earlier this week, Gov. Jay Inslee rejected Vancouver Energy’s proposal to build the nation’s largest crude-by-rail oil terminal at the Port of Vancouver.

The development is the latest in the long saga surrounding the controversial project. For our Clark Talks podcast, reporters Katy Sword and Jake Thomas interview the Columbian’s Dameon Pesanti about how we got here and if the project is indeed finished.

Later in the podcast, Sword and Thomas talk with Debbie Sanders, a professor of accounting at WSU Vancouver, about what the federal tax overhaul might mean for you.

To wrap things up is a conversation with Columbian reporter Jerzy Shedlock about his upcoming Sunday story on murder in Clark County.

You can find the show on Soundcloud, or subscribe for free downloads on iTunes or Stitcher. Contact Sword and Thomas about the podcast at podcast@columbian.com.
