A new lunch-and-dinner restaurant is heading to the ground floor of a downtown office building, according to permits filed with the city of Vancouver.

NW Hospitality Group has applied to build a restaurant and coffee stand on the ground floor at 1220 Main St., a five-story office building that was the longtime headquarters of First Independent Bank. The restaurant will have 63 seats, according to the permits. The space was last occupied by Charlie’s Bodega.

Genaro Zurita, one of the owners of the restaurant, said it will be called Amaro’s Table and will serve a broad menu including burgers, salads and seafood.

Zurita told The Columbian he has been a chef in the Vancouver-Portland area for more than 20 years.
