Letter: President is disgraceful

By
Published:

This communication is to present our family’s deepest apologies for the disrespectful, disgraceful and offensive comments made by the president of our country.

His words do not represent our family’s feelings nor those of the nation that we are. His words do not speak to nor represent the kindness, understanding and generous people that we are.

For nearly a century, the United States has led by example, until last week, when this resident betrayed us with his denigrating and disparaging remarks.

To all Haitians, Africans and members of the World Community: please accept our most sincere apologies. The president spoke out of his ignorance. The president did not speak on behalf of the citizenry of this nation.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
