PORTLAND — We’ll find out just how much “Everything Sucks!” in an Oregon high school in the 1990s on Feb. 16, when the Netflix series makes its streaming debut. “Everything Sucks” filmed in Oregon City this summer, and the 10-episode series, described as a dramedy, is about the collision between two groups that aren’t typically considered the cool kids — that is, the AV club and the drama club.

Here’s what the Netflix press release says:

“The 90s high school experience: Desperate, heartfelt, awkward, exciting, and free of smartphones. Set in the real life town of Boring, Ore., in 1996, Everything Sucks! is a quirky, funny coming of age story that revolves around Boring High School’s A/V Club and Drama Club — two crews of nerdy-edgy outsiders, who join forces to make a movie and endure the purgatory known as high school.”

The cast includes Peyton Kennedy (“American Fable”) and Jahi Winston (The New Edition Story) as students Kate Messner and Luke O’Neil, with Patch Darragh (“Boardwalk Empire”) and Claudine Nako (“Grimm”) playing the students’ parents.

“Everything Sucks!” is created by Ben York Jones and Michael Mohan, who are also executive producers.
