A Vancouver man that police say had been drinking was arrested after an injury crash on the Interstate 5 Bridge Saturday afternoon.

Jordan T. Selby, 28, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault after the crash, which occurred at 2:35 p.m.

The Washington State Patrol said Selby was driving a black pickup southbound on the bridge when he struck the left guardrail, then careened across all three lanes and hit the right guardrail. The truck came to a stop blocking the right lane of the bridge.

His passenger, Brittany N. Reid, 28, of Happy Valley, Ore., was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland for evaluation and treatment of injuries.

Troopers said drunken driving was the cause of the crash.

Selby was not reported injured.

Traffic to Portland was snarled for most of the afternoon as troopers investigated and the scene was cleared.
