Everything’s Coming up Roses

The Portland Rose Festival is across the Columbia River, but the roses are blooming in Vancouver too. A bumblebee takes advantage of Thursday’s fair weather to explore the many blossoms in the rose garden at Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver. The roses, which are planted and maintained by the Fort Vancouver Rose Society, grow behind the Slocum House near the southwest corner of the park, off Esther Street.
