The Southwest Washington Regional SWAT Team took an 18-year-old into custody after a two-hour standoff in La Center on Thursday morning, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Dylan Aseph was wanted on a warrant for first-degree burglary out of Clackamas County, Ore., the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

About 9 a.m. Thursday, the SWAT team surrounded a house at 634 E. Pioneer Loop in an attempt to arrest Aseph, according to a sheriff’s office bulletin. He barricaded himself in the home. Aseph does not live there; the family was safely evacuated. Police were notified that there were weapons in the home.

The SWAT team got a search warrant for the La Center residence and entered the home, where it found Aseph in the attic. He surrendered and was taken into custody about 11:20 a.m.
