Jodie Taylor scored in the 89th minute to give the Seattle Reign at 1-0 win over the Portland Thorns on Saturday in Seattle.

The win moved Seattle (6-3-5) into second place in the National Women’s Soccer League. Portland (5-5-5) fell to fifth place.

Adrianna Franch kept Portland in the game with eight saves. Those included two spectacular stops on shots by Reign star Megan Rapinoe, whose pass into the 18-yard box set up Taylor’s goal.

Portland did not have a shot on goal and had just 41 percent of the possession.
