Letter: Long knows local issues

Carolyn Long is no newcomer to Southwest Washington despite physically moving here from Oregon in the past year.

As a Washington State University public policy professor for 20-plus years, Long launched the Initiative for Public Deliberation. The WSU website states that the IPD’s purpose “is to provide citizens of Southwest Washington with moderated public forums concerning important issues of local, state, or national interest.” Long has taught students to facilitate discussions with Southwest Washington citizens about such critical local issues as affordable housing. She is well-versed in local concerns.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
