UPDATE: The charges filed against Iann Marsh in Clark County Superior Court were dismissed without prejudice, meaning the case could be re-filed at a later date, March 5. The prosecution said the case was dismissed because they were unable to locate witnesses at the time, court records show.

Two men were arrested following a verbal altercation that escalated when one suspect threatened his neighbors with a shotgun, according to Vancouver police.

About 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to 11515 N.E. 49th St., in Vancouver, on a brandishing report.

A caller told dispatchers that a resident of the apartment complex pointed a shotgun at two other men who also live there and threatened to shoot them, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email.

“Apparently, there had been a verbal altercation between the suspects and the victims. During the argument, one of the suspects went into his apartment and armed himself with a shotgun and came out to continue confronting the victims,” Kapp said.

When police arrived, the suspects had gone back inside. Officers used a loudspeaker to call them out.

Two men were arrested. Iann Marsh, 21, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault; Kenny Kirkland, 26, was booked for an outstanding warrant, according to Kapp.

Both Marsh and Kirkland were arguing with the victims, Kapp said.

There were no injuries, she said.
