The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed Friday night in Hazel Dell as Sharon Billingsley, 60.

Billingsley was crossing Northeast Highway 99 outside a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a pickup.

Deputies and first responders were called to the 8200 block of Northeast Highway 99 at 9:34 p.m. They found Billingsley critically injured; she later died at a hospital.

The incident occurred after dark and about 200 feet away from the nearest marked crosswalk in gloomy, rainy weather.

Witnesses reported she was crossing the five-lane road when she was struck by a southbound pickup truck. The driver of the pickup, Jeffrey Donaca, 42, of Vancouver, stopped, remained on scene, and is cooperating with the investigation.

Deputies said in an initial release that the driver was not currently facing any charges. The sheriff’s office did not respond to questions Monday about whether that’s changed. A short press release said no other information was available.
