The Union baseball team picked up its first 4A Greater St. Helens League on Friday, but the Titans had to sweat out a seventh-inning rally by Heritage for a 4-3 victory.

After Grayson Hoskins and Chase Hendy singled, Xaiver Ulrich reached on a two-base error to the outfield, allowing Hoskins to score and cut Union’s lead to one. Hendy took third.

The Titans then brought in Spencer McGuire to pitch, and McGuire struck out the only batter he faced for the save.

Carter Sutton was 3 for 4 with two runs and RBI for Union, and Jaxon Woodhouse was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI as Union built a 4-0 lead after four innings.

Wyatt Rogina gave up two unearned runs in five innings with 10 strikeouts for Union.
