In a rematch of the 4A district girls tennis doubles final a week ago, Skyview got even.

Anna Lu and Karly Metz defeated Union’s Nicole Knudtson and Anna Foster 6-1, 6-2 to win the 4A bi-district title on Saturday at the Boeing Employees Tennis Club at Kent.

Both advance to the 4A state tournament at Richland.

Last week it was Knudtson and Foster who won 6-1, 7-5 in the district final over Lu and Metz.

Also headed to 4A state is Camas senior Sam Merrill, who placed sixth at bi-district. She won the 4A district title last week.

Skyview finished third in the team standings.

2A district — Columbia River junior Faith Grisham defended her title from a year ago and will be returning state after a 6-1, 6-2 win the district championship match over Sydney Cameron of W.F. West.

Grisham is undefeated on the season and has yet to lose a set.

Columbia River won the district team title as well.

Washougal’s top doubles team of Rebecca Boylan and Beyonce Bea will be headed to state as district champions after a 7-5, 6-4 win in the final.

The 2A state tournament is next weekend at Nordstrom Tennis Center on the University of Washington campus in Seattle.

3A bi-district — Hudson’s Bay senior Avery Honaker placed fourth in singles, advancing to 3A state next weekend at Kennewick.

Mountain View’s Shreya Batra, who Honaker beat last week for the 3A district title, also earned a berth to state by placing fifth.

Mountain View placed second in the team standings.
