Search and rescue teams in Eastern Oregon found the body of a missing Vancouver man Saturday in the Brownlee Reservoir on the Snake River, according to the Baker County Sheriff’s Office.

Cu Van Tran, 76, was reported missing after falling out of his row boat Wednesday near Huntington, Ore., the sheriff’s office said.

According to the sheriff’s office, family members said that Tran went missing after launching from the shore near Fox Creek to assist another family member whose boat was disabled.

A rainstorm swept through the area at some point after that, and he did not return.

On Saturday afternoon, other boaters reported finding Tran’s body in the river.
