Health Worker Report

Published: May 22, 2018, 5:46am

The Health Systems Quality Assurance Division of the state Department of Health recently took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County health care providers.

In April, the Dental Commission conditionally granted a dental assistant credential to Veronica Mykita Fair. In 2017 Fair was convicted in Texas of prostitution.

In April, the Unlicensed Practice Program notified Xianxiu Guo of its intent to issue a cease-and-desist order. Guo allegedly advertised massage despite having no license.

In March, the Nursing Commission denied a registered nurse credential to Melissa Jean Hayes, whose Kansas nurse license was suspended in 2017 because she didn’t complete a required evaluation. Hayes tested positive for methamphetamine on a pre-employment drug screen.

In May, the secretary of health indefinitely suspended the registered nursing assistant credential of Galina Karcha. Karcha didn’t give prescribed medications to a vulnerable adult in her care. The state Department of Social and Health Services found that Karcha neglected a vulnerable adult in her care and can’t be employed in caring for or having unsupervised access to vulnerable adults.
