Landover-Sharmel — Evergreen Public Schools’ communications and video services department had a strong showing at the 2018 Washington School Public Relations Association Communications Awards.

The district was recognized multiple times in the category of school districts with 10,000 or more students enrolled. The Evergreen team earned an award of excellence in the Communications, Public Relations and Marketing campaign category for its bond campaign.

The district staff also won awards of excellence for two videos: one where district staffers read tweets from students begging for snow days, and another on a piece of student artwork hanging in the district office called “This is Gary by: Gary.”

Evergreen also won awards of merit for the district’s annual report, print newsletter and website redesign, and an honorable mention for the district’s social media.
