Three hospitalized after crash on Lower River Road

According to Vancouver police, the car crashed into a brick wall at about 1 a.m. on the 3100 block of Northwest Lower River Road .
The vehicle was traveling southeast, headed toward the Port of Vancouver, when it came out of a curve and left the roadway.
The vehicle struck a low brick wall near the entrance to the port’s administration building. The crash caused significant damage to the vehicle. The driver was pinned inside the car and had to be extracted.
All three occupants were transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center.
The preliminary investigation showed speed was a possible factor.
The Vancouver Police traffic unit is still investigating the accident and no other information was available Sunday.
Alarm goes off in early morning
Three people asleep in a Vancouver home were alerted and escaped a fire unharmed early Sunday morning when a smoke detector went off.
The fire was reported at about 2:25 a.m. on the 15300 block of Northeast 90th Street.
Damage to the structure and its contents, including smoke damage, was estimated at more than $80,000.
The county fire marshal’s office was investigating the cause of the fire, Vancouver firefighter-paramedic Sam Harrison said. |
