Two men were injured — one severely — in a head-on vehicle crash Thursday night on a rural road north of Yacolt Mountain.
The crash happened just after 7 p.m., on W.H. Garner Road, east of Kelly Road when a vehicle crossed the centerline, striking an oncoming car, said Clark County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chuck Christensen.
When authorities arrived, one of the drivers was trapped inside, so firefighters had to cut off the top of the vehicle to free him. One driver was rushed by ambulance, and the other driver was airlifted to OHSU Hospital. There were no other occupants.
Two hours later, Clark County sheriff’s deputies were still on scene. The drivers were not identified and their conditions were not available. Traffic deputies were investigating the cause of the crash.
