Breaking news from local organizations.
Police & Fire
Oregon State Police - Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 211 about one mile east of S. Union Mills Road near milepost 16 - Oregon State Police, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, and Clackamas County Medical Examiner are on scene of what appears to be a hit & run adult male victim found early this afternoon by a utility worker in a ditch on the eastbound shoulder - Eastbound lane closed until scene investigation completed - No more information will be released at this time. UPDATE
Transportation
ODOT Region 1 - HIGHWAY 6 UPDATE #1: One lane of Highway 6 (Wilson River Highway) has been reopened following a crash at mile post 41 -- about six miles west of Banks. Flaggers will control both directions of traffic via the single open lane while authorities conduct a traffic investigation and clear the crash site. Motorists traveling to and from the coast should expect delays through this area. The highway will be restricted to one lane of traffic until further notice. UPDATE
ODOT Region 2 - The hay truck fire on Highway 99 just north of Junction City will keep both directions of the highway closed until at least 4 p.m. Friday. The highway was closed at about 11:30 a.m. when a truck hauling hay started burning. Fire crews on scene elected to allow the truck and its contents to burn due to safety concerns. Once the fire is extinguished, a tow truck will remove the remains of the truck and trailer. It is unclear at this time how extensive the highway is damaged from the fire. A detour routing traffic around the scene is in place. For northbound traffic, the detour takes vehicles west on 18th Avenue to Oaklea Drive and then to Highway 99W. Southbound traffic is being directed south on Oaklea Drive to High Pass Road and then back to the highway. No further information is available.
