Peterson Prairie Guard Station, in February 2007. The historic cabin in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest burned Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, in a fire thought to have started in a chimney. Built in 1926, the rental cabin in the Mount Adams Ranger District was popular with hikers, cross-country skiers, snowshoers and huckleberry pickers.
