Kelsey Hartley, 32, gets moral support from her 18-month-old daughter, Sadie, as she joins hundreds of LDS Church volunteers who planted flowers and herbs, built raised beds and footpaths, weeded, painted and cleaned Pacific Community Park in east Vancouver. Saturday’s event was an inaugural Sept. 11 day of service, encouraged by Mormon church leaders.
