A pedestrian walks under the Glenn L. Jackson Memorial Bridge on a cold and foggy morning December 5, 2011 in Vancouver, Washington. The bridge is a segmental bridge that spans the Columbia River. Construction began in August of 1977 and opened December 15, 1982. The finished project cost was $169.6 million. Three men died during its construction.
