Friends of the Columbia Gorge is building a new overlook at the edge of the bluff atop Cape Horn in honor of Nancy Russell, the organization’s founder, who bought land destined for a subdivision on the bluff and eventually sold it to the Forest Service. Hikers will be able to reach the site via the rebuilt Cape Horn Trail. Guinett Masonry of Vancouver built the overlook from blocks of basalt.
