In this Friday, March 16, 2012 photo, Johnny Lail keeps an eye on the newest technology for furniture making, a router machine that uses a computer to cut, sand and work wood at the Lincolnton Furniture Company in Lincolnton, N.C. This machine reduces the need for five or six workers per day. Five generations of Cochranes had been furniture makers, but by the mid-1990s the trade was moving to China, land of cheap labor. But earlier this year, Bruce Cochrane reopened with a work force of about 55, part of a small but growing trend called "reshoring." (AP Photo/Bob Leverone)
