Tom Griffin holds a photo of his B-25 crew -- including a Vancouver airman -- for the April 18, 1942, Doolittle Raid on Japan. Griffin, then a lieutenant, stands at left with, from left, pilot Lt. Harold Watson, Tech. Sgt. Eldred Scott, Lt. James Parker, and Staff Sgt. Wayne Bissell of Vancouver, who died in 1997.
