This Aug. 26, 2003, image made available by NASA shows Mars photographed by the Hubble Space Telescope on the planet's closest approach to Earth in 60,000 years. In the next four years, Mars One wants to get the applicant group of those who want a one-way ticket to the red planet down to about 40. Those selected will train in groups for seven years. And if everything goes according to plan, a global audience then will vote on which team will go to Mars in 2025.
