The Clark County Fence Riders performed a tribute to longtime local veterinarian Jack Giesy, who died July 28 at age 80. He was the lead vet at the Clark County Fair for 45 years and the horse arena at the fairgrounds is named for him. The fence riders saddled up a riderless horse and marched it up the hill toward the fair campground, with the entire fence rider team following, most of them in tears. The riderless horse stood at the top of the hill while one man saluted the horse and Giesy and another held the horse with his hand and hat on his heart. The
riders then passed two at a time while they went to their nightly duties of patrolling the parking lots.
