A house near Manton, Calif., is little more than a fireplace and warped pieces of metal roofing Monday after the Ponderosa fire went through. More than 1,400 firefighters are battling the fire that has destroyed seven homes and burned 23 square miles since it started Saturday. It is just 5 percent contained.
