Police, firefighters and paramedics respond to a man standing in the Columbia River near the Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay boat dock on October 16, 2011. The man, who appeared to be in a catatonic state, had to be pulled from the river by rescue swimmers and was transported to a local hospital. The Vancouver Fire Department has been awarded a grant to buy a larger fire boat.
