U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt. Christopher Willingham shakes hands Thursday with Lucca, 8, a German Shepherd/Malinois mix, in Irwindale, Calif. Lucca, who lost a leg to a roadside bomb, is now retired and lives with Willingham, her first handler.
